Get to Know Me
Jen, Certified Pediatric Sleep Consultant
My name is Jen, and I became a certified pediatric sleep consultant after needing a sleep consultant of my own when my son, Tate, was a baby. I am also a registered nurse in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, where I’ve worked since becoming a nurse ten years ago.
Tate is almost one year old now, and he is a sweet, fun, busy boy. As a baby, he wouldn’t sleep through the night or take good naps, waking to nurse constantly. I struggled through it during my maternity leave, but when I returned to work I knew something had to change. Sleeping only 1-2 hours at a time meant I was always tired. I constantly fell asleep while feeding Tate at night. It wasn’t safe for my son, myself, or my job. That’s when we decided to hire a sleep consultant. She was amazing, and within the first four nights he had gone from waking up every couple of hours to sleeping 10-12 hours straight! No more waking for feedings all night long — it changed my life. I became passionate about helping more struggling families develop healthy sleep habits for their kids. Help is out there, and it is within arm’s reach.
I was personally chosen by Dana Obleman, founder of the Sleep Sense program, to attend her extensive training course. Dana’s certification training is one of the most extensive pediatric sleep trainings in the world. It is an honor and privilege when families put their trust in me and allow me into their lives at such a vulnerable time.
